Please pray

I apologize for not getting pictures downloaded. This week has been busier than I expected. I will try to post some as soon as I can.

Please be praying for the Poteat family. This is George's mother's side. His Grandaddy is in the hospital now and not doing well. Also pray for George-he made a trip to North Carolina today to be with the family. Please pray that God will be with Grandmama and that He will give the doctors wisdom on how to treat Grandaddy. Thank you.

Also be praying for Gene and Debbie this week as they have traveled to Honduras. I know they have been wanting to go for a while now-so we are excited for them to be there. Pray for their safety and protection. We love you guys!

George came home safely, thankfully. He did not, however, take lots of pictures! He did take a few but they were on his cell phone and I am not sure of how to download them. So I will have to wait for the VIPs to get back from Honduras this weekend. I know they will take lots of pictures and will share them!

George is in Honduras this week. Please be praying for him as he is at the property getting things ready for the VIP trip next week. The property is looking great, the dorms are nearly finished! God is good! Please pray for George's safety and also that he will begin to develop strong relationships with Evis and Jarmon. As well as other men that live around the property. Hopefully George will take lots of pictures and we will post them next week! Thank you for your prayers!

Fully Convinced

No distrust made Abraham waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what He had promised.

Romans 4:20-21

This verse means a lot to me and George. It is one that we hold onto as we prepare to move. It is talking about when God told Abraham that he would be the father of many nations even though Abraham and Sarah were both beyond child baring years. Abraham believed in God's promise that God would use him and his family. Abraham was fully convinced that God was able to keep His promise and that He would keep His promise. Abraham grew strong in his faith and continually gave glory to God.

This is our desire-that we would be FULLY convinced that God is able to do what He has promised. We, in ourself, will not be able to fulfill His will in Honduras. But we know that He has called us to go to Honduras to share His Gospel. And because He has called us He will equip us. Please pray for us that we will continually grow strong on our faith and always, always give God the glory that He alone deserves.

Three ways to be a part:

PRAYER: Prayer is the most important part of the ministry. Please pray that God will guide us and give us wisdom. Pray for the people that they will come to know and glorify God.
SUPPLY: You can give care packages, clothes, school supplies, things that we can share with the community and people in need.
SUPPORT: We know that economic times are hard right now so asking you to give is a big sacrifice. This support will be used for our daily needs and also for ministry projects. Without your contribution we cannot go. We will be held accountable for all contributions given and promise to use the money to further the Gospel in Honduras.

George's Testimony

I was born in Gastonia, North Carolina in May 1982. God allowed me to be a part of a very loving family. My parents loved my sister and I without question. It was not until I was about eight years old that my parents began attending church on a regular basis. When God began showing me my sinfulness and need of a Savior, I resisted for weeks. I finally quit fighting the Lord and surrendered my life. I was saved in November of 1991.
My new life in Christ began and He continually taught me and used me in many ways. He allowed me to be a part of leading two of my best friends, at that time, to Christ. There were struggles throughout high school but God never let me get too far away.
I was in an automobile accident my junior year of high school. This was during a time when I searched for fulfillment apart from God. He showed me that He had bigger plans for me and that it was time for me to get serious about my relationship with Him. He led me to Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. I began undergraduate classes in the fall of 2000 and earned a Bachelors Degree in December of 2005. I began college as a philosophy student, but I never felt as though I had a grasp on the information. Southeastern began a mission focused major in 2004. I changed majors and, as a prerequisite for graduation, spent a semester in Peru. This is where God solidified His calling on my life to fulltime missions.
When I returned to the states for my final semester, God introduced me to Kara. She was also a student at Southeastern. We were married in January of 2006. Kara's home church in Florida is very involved in missions to Honduras. God had grown their ministry in such a way that it is necessary to have full-time missionaries on the ground to supplement the growth. Kara and I began praying about the possibility to serve in Honduras. After talking with Bro Johnny, we felt led to move to Florida to begin working with the ministry.

Kara's Testimony

I was saved when I was eight at a revival in my hometown. I realized that night that I was a sinner and that I needed God to save me. So I asked Jesus to be my Savior. Through high school I read my Bible and prayed and was very involved in churh, however, there were definate struggles. In college I had a friend that challenged my faith. He questioned why I believed what I believed. Through that time of searching the depth of my faith, God drew me closer to Himself and the Truth of the Gospel became more real and personal. During a summer of college I was a camp counselor at a WMU camp. Missions was the main focus of this camp. It was during this time that I knew that God wanted me to be in ministry. I went on missions trips in the states, to Honduras, and to Africa. Although I loved every place, I knew that Honduras had a special place in my heart. In January of 2003 I moved to North Carolina to finish school at Southeastern College at Wake Forest. There I met my husband, George. We were married in January of 2006 and lived in Wake Forest while George was in school. During this time we met with Brother Johnny, the pastor of my church in Florida. We talked about the future of International Mission Builders and how God was showing them that it was time to place someone on the field permanently. My heart leapt! George and I began to pray about this and a few months later we moved to Florida to begin the process!
